Ben Maher began riding at the age of 8, following in the footsteps of his mother, who was passionate about horses. In his pony years, he joined the British team and was crowned the European Champion in both 1997 and 1998.
At the end of his studies, he joined Liz Edgar's stables. In 2005, he became the youngest winner of the Hickstead Derby. The following year, he made his debut in the Nations Cup, before taking part in the Olympic Games in Beijing. It was with Rolette and Robin Hood that he became famous, but it was with Tripple X that he really exploded. He won the team Olympic gold medal in London, in front of his home audience.
Ben Maher remained at the top of the World rankings for three months, from November 2013 to January 2014.
Among his many stars, Explosion W holds a special place in the heart of the British champion. Thanks to him, Maher won the Global Champions Tour, as well as the silver medal in the individual category at the 2019 European Championships in Rotterdam, and the bronze medal in the team category.
