Sameh El Dahan will no longer ride under Egyptian colors
Sameh El Dahan will no longer ride under Egyptian colors. is owner and long-time friend Joanne Sloan Allen, announced it on her social media yesterday: "Sameh El Dahan has had a very difficult time professionally , and after a lot of soul-searching, he made the decision that he could no longer continue his career to the level that he wants to whilst he was still under the control of the Egyptian equestrian federation". A reference to his non-selection for the Tokyo Olympics, despite the fact that he helped the team to qualify and had good results in recent months (including a second place in Paris’ LGCT Grand Prix with WKD Aimez Moi).
Having lived in Ireland for the last ten years , Sameh eventually changed sport nationality to team Great Britain. "It was a tough decision made a lot easier by the welcome he received from the team manager Di Lampard and indeed the whole of team GB equestrian who have made him feel a welcome and valuable addition to their team". This new rider will indeed be a valuable addition to GB team which still struggles to reach the top of the team podiums at major events. New horizons are opening up for the 2018 Rolex Grand Slam Calgary winner.
