Rahotep de Toscane is retiring!
A member of the 2016 French Olympic team in Rio de Janeiro, Rahotep de Toscane (Quidam de Revel x Laudanum xx) jumped his last course in Valencia, in February 2021. He was affected by rhinopneumonitis (EHV-1) upon his return from that competition, which caused him to have some difficult days. Philippe Rozier and his entourage finally decided to offer him his retirement at the stud farm of his owner Christian Baillet, where he will devote himself to breeding.
He was the winner of the Nations Cup at the CSIO5* in Al Ain and placed third at the mythical CHIO Aachen. He has also distinguished himself in 5* Grands Prix with second places in Madrid and Knokke, and a third place in Chantilly in 2017.
He’s the son of the famous Fanny du Murier, who also produced another great winner for Philippe Rozier, Jadis de Toscane, and the former 7-year-old French Champion, Karla de Toscane, with all three being by Quidam de Revel. It should be noted that this is also the line that Eric Navet's star mount, Dollar du Murier is from, as well as Pegase du Murier and Darius du Murier. A truly golden line which will now be available for breeding.
