A new leaf for Emily Moffitt
After six years with British rider Emily Moffitt, Hilfiger Van de Olmenhoeve (Dulf van den Bisschop) will now be partnered with Will Martin, a young Canadian rider. The Poden Farm rider trained by Ben Maher announced his departure emotionally on her social networks: "I can’t even begin to put into words what you have meant and will forever mean to me. Not only did you give me my big break in my career you were also my best friend (…) Now it’s time for you to teach someone what you taught me. Endless love for you my boy. See you soon."
In 2013, at the World Championships for six-year-old horses in Lanaken, this BWP had appeared under the saddle of Belgian Astrid Rooms. They completed two perfect courses before the horse subsequently joined Gilles Thomas. Three years later, Emily Moffitt and Hilfiger Van de Olmenhoeve rode their first show together and the following year they were selected for the European Young Riders Championships in Samorin. They won the Nations Cup together and took seventh place in the individual competition. The British rider also took him with her to ride in the Global Champions League team to compete in Shanghai, Rome and Madrid. Another great victory of note for the pair was the Nations Cup of the CSIO4* in Wellington in 2018, where they achieved a clear round.
