The Netherlands win the Nations Cup of Prague

22 August 2020

It was the event of the day, and there was actually a Nations Cup this weekend! It was certainly a three-star event in Prague, but it’ll be just one of the few team events of the year… and the winning team looked good. Jeroen Dubbeldam on Carlyle (Casall) and Franck Schuttert on Lyonel D (Little Joe) were joined by Bart Bles on Israel vd Dennehoeve (Thunder Van De Zuuthoeve), while Jur Vrieling and Glasgow van 't Mereslnest (Nabab de Rêve) didn't even have to start in either round, allowing Rob Ehrens to add another victory to his record as the Dutch coach. They edged out Ireland, while Paul Schockemoehle's Japan team had the luxury of beating the German team.

In Grimaud, the 1.50m CSI4* placings looked like a five-star Grand Prix awards ceremony! Marcus Ehning won with Prêt à Tout (Hiram Chambertin Hn) ahead of Simon Delestre and Ryan des Hayettes (Hugo Germeray), while Peder Fredricson took 3rd place with Christian K (Namelus R).
