Konak is off to the United States
One month after winning the bronze medal at the Belgian Championships together, Gilles Thomas and Konak (Nabab de Rêve) are parting ways. The Belgian rider announced the sale of his 11-year-old gelding to the United States, where he will be ridden by Chandler Meadows.
Bred by Jef Hens and Marc Van Dijck, Konak arrived as a 4-year-old at the Nieuwenhof stables in Belgium. Throughout his young career, he was mainly trained by Jordy Oostvogels and Mike Vanhaudt before participating in the World Championship for 6YO with Gilles Thomas. The machine was set in motion with this young rider: the duo then won two Nations Cups in Opglabbeek, a team silver medal and a fourth place in individual at the European Young Riders Championship in 2019. They have also participated in several CSI5* events like in Mechelen, Doha and Stockholm.
