It’s the end of a career for Don VHP Z

12 September 2020

Today was a special day for Harrie Smolders as he celebrated - in restricted company - Don VHP Z’s (Diamant de Sémilly) farewell from competition.

"He was an incredible horse and achieved so many clear rounds at the 1.60m level! I don't think many horses could do what he did. He made me World No. 1! I really enjoyed riding him,” commented the Euro Horse stable rider.

As the individual European runners-up in Gothenburg, the pair also won the Hamburg and Rome Grands Prix, not to mention the Nations Cup in Barcelona, while accumulating honorable rounds in the most beautiful arenas on the planet.

A maternal half-brother to Carlos VHP Z who was ridden by Nicola Philippaerts, McLain Ward and then Nicholas Dello Joio, Don will now devote himself to his breeding career.
