Geneva confirms the CHI will be held
After the Lyon and Verona stages confirmed that they would go ahead with the organization of their World Cup stages, it’s now CHI Geneva’s turn to confirm that they will also be holding their competition, which will be the only stage of the Rolex Grand Slam this year.
The best show jumping and eventing riders will meet at the Palexpo from December 10 to 13, as will the drivers who will compete in the World Cup Driving stage for a very special 60th edition. Once again, the Geneva Equestrian Show Jumping Committee is showing its determination to organize one of the most prestigious competitions in the world, culminating in the 20th final of the Top 10 competition.
“We’ve studied all the options and we’ve concluded that the CHI Geneva event can be held against a backdrop of strict appropriate health measures that will enable us to ensure the safety of everyone”, specifies Sophie Mottu Morel, CHI Geneva Show Director. She adds: “We’re well aware that the health situation could change before December and this could force us to make other decisions in the next few weeks, but we’re doing everything in our power to enable the staging of CHI Geneva 2020. We’re determined to put on a 60th event that showcases the sport at the highest level. It will appeal to spectators, competitors and sponsors alike.”
The Mechelen stage organizers have also not given up yet and are still trying to find solutions, even though they know that it will not be a traditional edition of the show. The Free Jumping competition has already been moved to the Azelhof facilities in Lier on December 6.
