Chidame Z kicks off the Grimaud competition
Born in Zangersheide, Chidame Z joined Pius Schwizer's stables in 2016 at the beginning of his 8th year. Since then, the mare has carved out a spot for herself in the Swiss rider's string with numerous victories along the way. Yesterday was the first day of Grimaud's new CSI5* with the top European riders.
Chidame Z is a daughter of Chipendale Z, a maternal half-brother to Winningmood vd Arenberg. The son of Cento was acquired during the Fences sales and progressed up to Grand Prix level while Chidame Z’s dam is also the dam to three approved stallions and four international performers... and notably to a certain Rexotta Z, who is none other than Clintrexo Z’s dam, Christian Ahlmann’s last championship horse.
"I'm very happy with this victory. Chidame jumped very well today and it's a great competition. I’d really like to thank the organizers for this great welcome. I've been riding Chidame for four years and she's always been a very competitive mare. She always wants to win. I hope that the weekend will continue in such a wonderful way!" said Pius Schwizer.
He came in ahead of Frenchman Sébastien Duplant on Alpha du Preuilly (Pacha du Preuilly) and Michel Robert on Van Kilmore (Valentino).
