Change of Nationality for Abdel Said

26 August 2021

At the Brussels Stephex Masters’ CSI5*, Abdel Said appears on the starting lists under Belgian colors. After the Tokyo Games where he represented Egypt, and was instrumental in the nation’s qualification for the Olympiad, the native of Alexandria has chosen henceforth to compete with a new red jacket. This choice is not so surprising since Abdel Said has been living in Belgium for several years at his stables AS Sport Horses in Harentals, even though his country already has good assets and tickets for the big events are pretty expensive. The rider of the springy Bandit Savoie has not provided any explanation as yet for this change.

Abdel Said was the first Egyptian in the world ranking of the International Equestrian Federation last July. It is no doubt another new blow for the African country which also saw Sameh El Dahan go this week.
