Céleste 26 ends her sporting career
Through her social media, Nadja Peter-Streiner announced the retirement of her longtime partner, Celeste 26 (Casall). Nicknamed "Cécé", the Holsteiner mare has been competing internationally with the Swiss rider since 2011. She has been an important mare for her rider's career and development, allowing her to compete in her first CSI5* Grand Prix and her first 5* Nations Cup in Hickstead in 2013. Their last appearance was last November in Vilamoura where they secured third place in the CSI3*.
"We’ve always had this bond between us that has made our story a beautiful love story. I will never forget you because it’s largely thanks to you that I am where I am today. (...) You’re still in great shape at 17, so it's time for me to let you rest and focus on your new career," she said.
Céleste 26 retires from sport after an international career entirely under the saddle of Nadja Peter-Streiner. It’s worth mentioning the Bronze medal she won at the Swiss Championships at the age of 9. The duo also won the CSIO3* Grand Prix in Rabat in 2017 before winning a 1.50m CSIO5* event in Hickstead the following year.
