Bertram Allen says goodbye to GK Casper

11 December 2020

GK Casper (Canto) is leaving Bertram Allen after five years with the Irish rider. The duo distinguished themselves all over the world, at the best competitions. Together they won the World Cup stage in Toronto last year, a 1.55m event at the Global Champions Tour in Doha, and in Basel. The Holsteiner was also ridden by Bertram’s brother, Harry Allen, Billy Twomey and English rider Kendra Claricia Brinkop.

The 12-year-old gelding was recently acquired by Bertram Allen's compatriot, Darragh Kenny. The latter is rebuilding his string of horses after his top mounts were removed at the end of his collaboration with Ann Thompson. "We’re very pleased to welcome GK Casper to the Oakland stable. Under Darragh’s management, they’re making their competitive debut this weekend in Wellington! Thanks to Bertram Allen and the Ballywalter team for all the years spent developing this spectacular horse. We can't wait to see what this new pair will accomplish in 2021," posted Oakland Stables on its Instagram account.
