Armitages Boy retires to Saint Lô.

13 April 2019

At 17, after an exemplary career at the highest level, Armitages Boy (Armitage x Feo) has retired to stud at Haras de Saint Lô. The stallion is returning to France after first making his debut under the saddle of Aymeric de Ponnat before continuing to jump at the highest level under the saddle of Italian Lorenzo De Luca. With these riders, he won the Nations Cups of Lummen, Gijon, Barcelona, La Baule and even in Rotterdam where he placed often in the most beautiful of Grand Prix’s. He was still in the placings a few weeks ago at 17 years old, finishing in third place in Leipzig. After a final trip across the Atlantic, the time has come for the magnificent bay to take a well-deserved retirement and to devote himself to breeding as his offspring start to make a name for themselves, including the very promising Festival d'Argouges who debuted under the saddle of breeder Jean-Luc Dufour, while Armitages Boy’s daughter Fiji des Marais won the 2015 French Fillies Championship.

"We are very happy with the confidence that Stephex Stables have in us. They’re a reputable company with two top riders. It is a partnership full of promise for the future. Besides, I've always loved Armitages Boy. He’s not a big horse but has always made me dream big with his flexibility, balance and impressive strength. His first crops are proving to be very good, so it’s all the more exciting for us to be able to bring him back to France and make his fresh semen available this season." said Michel Guiot of Haras de Talma and co-manager of France Étalons.
