Amsterdam throws in the towel

10 September 2020

Oslo, Helsinki, Stuttgart and Madrid had already announced their cancellations for the Winter, and now it’s Amsterdam’s turn. It’s the first World Cup stage of 2021 – in both jumping and dressage – to throw in the towel. The World Cup season seems to be in jeopardy. The organizers that try to go ahead with their competitions will have to be very brave. Organizing is already a complicated exercise that often requires a lot of skill to balance everything, but now, it almost amounts to a certain form of masochism. It has been so many months of this now that it’s much easier to do nothing at all.

The Winter will seem very long for many riders.
