Equita Lyon is reconsidering its position
The Equita Lyon teams are reconsidering their position after new government announcements regarding the active circulation of the virus in France, particularly in the Lyon region. Sylvie Robert, President of GL events Equestrian Sport, has just announced the cancellation of Equita Lyon Show, the Equita Lyon Western Horse Show and the 3-year-old Selle Français Sport French Championships. Only the Longines Equita Lyon, bringing together show jumping events including the World Cup stage, the Jumping Ponies Trophy and the Grand Indoor, will still be on in a new format and in a single arena. A maximum capacity of one thousand people will be allowed, "mainly the partners through whom the sporting event can be maintained", in the Eurexpo hall, explains Sylvie Robert. This event bringing together the major competitions of the international, national, and regional circuit, will take place from October 24 to November 1, 2020. To enjoy an Equita Lyon edition in its usual form, you’ll have to wait until October 27, 2021.
With the cancellation of the World Cup stage in A Coruña a few hours ago, the International Equestrian Federation's indoor circuit will have only three stages left in 2020: Lyon, Verona and Mechelen.
