Roger Yves Bost's Olympic Parter Sydney Une Prince
Roger-Yves Bost announced on Wednesday, March 14, 2017 that his Rio 2016 Olympic gold medal winning partner, Sydney Une Prince (Baloubet du Rouet) will join the USA and the stables of Katie Dinan, who purchased the mare through European based sales agent Juan Ramos, of Argentina.
"I feel very lucky to have Sydney join my stable, and I am immensely grateful to all those that have made that possible,” Dinan commented. “Sydney has all the qualities one dreams about in a horse, and I will do my best to do her justice!"
Sydney Une Prince’s owners at Treize Stud Farm posted on Facebook in a message to say goodbye to their star:
"It is with great emotion that the Treize stud farm said goodbye to Sydney Une Prince * Thirteen, which has just been sold in the US. For nine years, the generous and respectful daughter of Baloubet du Rouet lived our dream of seeing one of our young horses evolve to the highest level, beginning at the start of her career under saddle at 4 and 5 years old.
The Treize stud farm wishes to thank Prince Stud, who found the ideal cross in breeding this performeer with a big heart, and Frederic de Romblay, who trained Sydney as a 4-year-old until she was a 7-year-old. But above all, we thank Roger-Yves Bost, who managed to take Sydney to the highest level. It is thanks to him that our beautiful chestnut finished, at just 10 years old, as the best French mare of the Rio Olympics in 2016 with a team gold medal and in 16th individually. We will also remember their two magnificent victories in World Cup Grand Prix.
In addition to the many memories, Sydney leaves us a young colt and future stallion, Friday Treize, born in 2015 by world champion, Diamant de Semilly, as well as a half-sister, Variance A Prince. These offspring will allow us to continue our very beautiful adventure with Bosty.
We are thrilled to know that Sydney is now with an extremely talented rider in a stable where she will be treated like a queen, and we wish them all the best. "
